David Moyes is looking to bolster his squad in January, with all
areas of his squad under consideration. Now with Sylvain Distin
looking unlikely to sign a new deal, which could very well result
in him being sold in the New Year – Moyes is considering options.
And his attention has been drawn to 20-year-old Manolas, who is
earning rave reviews in Greece following his call-up to the
national team’s senior squad. The Toffees are no strangers to the
Greek market, having plucked Apostolos Vellios from Iraklis almost
12 months ago. Now Everton are lining up a deal for Manolas – but
they are not alone in checking on the highly-rated young stopper.
Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is also thought to be an admirer of the
young defender, while Blackburn, Newcastle and West Ham are also
said to be keen.
