Pep Guardiola's response to critics of his playing style is so perfect

For the first time in Pep Guardiola's short Manchester City managerial career, the Citizens are in a rut. They're winless in their last four matches, including a two losses. One of those losses came earlier this week at the hands a Pep's former club, Barcelona, which waxed City to the tune of a 4-0 drubbing.

Now, a tricky weekend test against Southampton in the Premier League looms. If Guardiola fails to earn a result against the Saints, the five-match winless streak would match the longest of his managerial career. With his tactics under siege by the press, Guardiola fired back at his critics when asked if he'd ever consider making a change.

"You would like that, huh?" Guardiola said with a grin on his face. "I think about that, yeah, but after that, the solution is not better than what I believe. So I cannot. Do you know why as well? Because in seven years, I won 21 titles."

He then stopped to pick up the microphone he just dropped. Just kidding — but he did continue to hammer home that his playing style has a history of rousing success with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

"I'm sorry, guys. I won 21 titles in seven years. So it's three titles per year playing that way ... No, I'm not going to change."

Given this is Guardiola's first dance with the English media, he got an early taste of just how quickly the good tides can turn against you. So far, it looks like he's able to hold his own.
