Today, Monday August 29th, is a special day for Real Madrid fans. It marks the seventh anniversary of Cristiano Ronaldo’s first ever goal for Los Merengues.

His debut goal for Real was fairly unspectacular – Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot against Deportivo La Coruna on the opening day of the 2009/10 La Liga season – but what followed has been nothing short of sensational.

All Ronaldo’s done since then? How about 363 goals in the next 347 games, for an average of 1.046 goals/match.

Not even Lionel Messi can match that kind of consistency. His Barcelona rival has 456 career goals for his club in 535 games, good for .852 goals/match.

In his first season at Real, Ronaldo “only” scored 33 goals across all competitions. In the six seasons that followed, Ronaldo has never scored less than 51.

Ronaldo, who is still recovering from a knee injury suffered in the Euro final vs France, is expected to make his season debut next Saturday, September 10 for Real’s home game against Osasuna.

Expect a goal or two from CR7.
