Alan Pardew has confirmed Newcastle United’s interest in Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgiim international has enjoyed an excellent campaign at Everton during his loan spell.
With Tottenham reported to also be showing an interest, Pardew has admitted that Newcastle would be keen on landing the 20-year-old forward.
"I think he is a player a lot of clubs will be looking at in the summer. I don’t think Everton will get a free run at him," said Pardew.
"At the moment, it is a bit like we are with Loic (Remy). It is a situation that Everton would love to keep him, as we would with Loic, and those questions are really out of Everton’s and our control."
Meanwhile, three players who will be on Tyneside beyond this season are youngsters Adam Armstrong, Freddie Woodman and Lubo Satka – who have all agreed their first professional deals with the club.
Striker Armstrong and goalkeeper Woodman are both 17, whilst Slovakian defender Satka is 18.
England youth star Armstrong has already made his Premier League debut, whilst Satka has also been involved in the first-team in recent weeks.
