Meyler set for new Cats deal talks

The 22-year-old midfielder cost just £150,000. He has battled
his way through the ranks and has now started five Premier League
games this year. His current deal is due to expire in 2011 but
Steve Bruce is ready to reward his recent form with fresh terms.
And Meyler admits he is loving how things are going for him at the
Stadium of Light at present. “All I can do is see what happens.
I’ll keep working hard in training and try to take every
opportunity I can,” he said. “I’m just glad the team is doing well
and we are all striving for one thing at the moment – to finish in
that top 10. “We have some top players here who I can learn from
and all I want to do is take every game as it comes. “It was great
to win and get the three points on Saturday but the most important
thing is the team played well. “We’re all looking forward to West
Ham on Saturday. Hopefully we can push on there and get three more
points.”
