Prosecutors charge 6 over match-fixing

German prosecutors say they have charged six individuals with
fraud over a betting scheme that allegedly netted ?2.8 million
($3.7 million) and involved European football players and
referees.

Bochum prosecutors said in a statement Friday that two of the
suspects paid out about ?550,000 worth of bribes to manipulate 26
friendlies and other matches in European competitions. They did not
release the suspects’ names.
