Lewandowski admits meeting Real Madrid before making Bayern decision

Robert Lewandowski admits to having had a brief meeting with Real Madrid while contemplating his next move.
Once it became clear that the Poland international would not be agreeing an extension to his contract at Borussia Dortmund, a clamor to secure his signature was sparked.
Clubs from across Europe were said to be chasing the services of a prolific marksman, with goalscorers of his caliber hard to by.
Real were among those said to have been monitoring his situation for some time, with the La Liga giants well aware of the threat posed by Lewandowski in the final third of the field.
He netted four times against them in a UEFA Champions League tie back in 2012/13, and will be hoping for more of the same on Tuesday as he attempts to haul Dortmund back into a quarter-final clash which is in danger of slipping away from them.
Lewandowski has now revealed that he could have been facing his future employers in midweek, having met with Real present Florentino Perez.
He has, however, taken the decision to link up with Bayern Munich as a free agent this summer and is reluctant to be drawn into a debate about what might have been.
Lewandowski told a pre-match press conference ahead of his latest outing against Real: "The only thing I can say is that Florentino spoke with me.
"It was a very brief conversation, it's the only thing I can say about the meeting with the president of Real Madrid."
