Juventus sign 10-year-old Palestinian wonderkid after he went viral on YouTube

Rashed Al-Hajjawi, 10, is set to join Juventus after his skills on YouTube saw him become a viral sensation.

Born in Norway, the Palestinian youth reportedly had the pick of Europe's elite after being discovered following a series of YouTube videos, and decided to join the Serie A champions' academy after a visit to the Juventus Stadium. The club announced the signing this weekend.

With the continued proliferation of social media and wide access to technology, it's only natural that more and more wonderkids are being discovered every day. Just recently there's Karamoko Dembele from Celtic making his Under-20s debut at 13, and Mustafa Kapi from Galatasaray turning out for the full team at just 14. Now here's Al-Hajjawi joining Juve at 10 years old.

Wonderkids rarely do reach the heights that were promised, but on the very limited initial evidence we have, Rashed's technique is fantastically impressive for a 10-year-old. Now there's just the very, very long road to becoming a professional he has ahead of him over the next decade or so.
