Israel draws England, Italy, Norway in U21 Euros

Host Israel has been drawn to play England, Norway and Italy in

its group at the 2013 European Under-21 Championship.

Defending champion Spain is top-seeded in a group that includes

the Netherlands, Russia and Germany.

The draw was conducted by UEFA in Tel Aviv less than two weeks

after the coastal city came under rocket fire from the Hamas group

in Gaza.

Israel will welcome several of Europe’s biggest football nations

in what is almost the strongest possible lineup for the biennial

tournament.

Matches will be played from June 5-18 at Jerusalem, Tel Aviv,

Netanya and Petach Tikva.
