Holloway wants Puncheon back

Puncheon joined QPR from Southampton before the close of the summer

transfer window, but has made just two brief substitute appearances

in the Premier League this season. QPR boss Neil Warnock is

expected to let the winger return to Southampton in the New Year

and Holloway is ready to make his move. The 25-year-old scored

three goals in 11 appearances for Blackpool in the top flight last

term and Holloway is optimistic he can persuade Puncheon to rejoin

the club. “I am definitely interested in him,” Holloway told the

Blackpool Gazette. “He suits the way we play. He did really well

for us and yes I would like him back. “Am I surprised he’s hardly

played for QPR? Probably not, because of the takeover. I think that

has changed everything at the club. “Neil Warnock knows that and I

think he has even told his lads who got him up that he is going to

spending something like £100m in the window. “QPR are now a

far cry from what they were in the Championship and what we were

like in the Premier League. “I feel for Puncheon because he hasn’t

played much at all. But hopefully it will be our gain – and I don’t

think it will be that big a loss for him if he does end up here

because we’re a good club that wants to win promotion.”
