Greece beats Austria 2-1 in friendly

Georgios Fotakis made one goal and then scored the winner on his

international debut to give Greece a 2-1 victory over Austria in a

friendly on Wednesday.

The PAOK midfielder was left unmarked in the 81st minute when he

collected a pass by Georgios Samaras and fired into the far corner

past goalkeeper Christian Gratzei.

Fotakis set up Greece’s opening goal in the 48th minute, when

Samaras met his cross from the right with a header that wrongfooted

Gratzei.

Defender Christian Fuchs scored Austria’s equalizer, his first

international goal in 36 matches, in the 67th minute.
