FC Rostov's pitch has been banned, but only after Manchester United played on it

Manchester United were incensed by the pitch at FC Rostov when they traveled to Russia last week. Now the Russia Football Union is upset with it too, banning the club from playing on it until it is improved.

The Red Devils were in Rostov for their Europa League clash and after seeing the playing surface, complained about it because it was so hard, uneven and patchy.

"It's still hard for me to believe that we are going to play," said Mourinho. "I know that we have to, but it is hard for me to believe we are going to play on that field -- if you can call it a field."

The Manchester United players watched in amazement when they trained on the pitch as balls bounced well over head high. Despite their protests, UEFA insisted that the field was safe to play on, but the Russia Football Union now thinks otherwise.

United were able to finish 90 minutes on the pitch, during which they tied Rostov 1-1 in the first leg.
