SAO PAULO (AP) The Brazilian football confederation says the national team will play Mexico on June 7 as part of its preparations for the Copa America.
The game will be held at Palmeiras’ 43,000-capacity Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo.
It will be Brazil’s first match after coach Dunga announces the Copa America squad on May 5, and the second-to-last before the South American tournament begins in Chile. Brazil is also expected to play Honduras three days later at the Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre.
Brazil was held by Mexico to a 0-0 draw in the group stage of the World Cup last year. It will be the Selecao’s first match at home since its disappointing performance in the World Cup.
Brazil debuts in the Copa America on June 14 against Peru.
