Rumor: Juventus to West Ham. // Likelihood: Possible. // The Talk: Nine months ago the Italy defender was being linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United but those days are over. Interestingly, West Ham’s co-owner David Gold incorrectly tweeted a picture of Ogbonna when welcoming new signing Pedro Obiang to Upton Park. The Hammers are now in talks with the Juve defender so it looks like Gold’s post wasn’t wasted time after all. Still a way to go but the signs are good.

Rumor: Stoke to Manchester United. // Likelihood: Blues still on track. // The Talk: Manchester United have reportedly made a move for Begovic just in case De Gea joins Real Madrid. The Independent had reason to believe United were preparing to hijack Chelsea’s move, but that rumor was shot down in flames by the Evening Standard which said the Blues are still expected to sign the Stoke goalkeeper.

Robin van Persie
Rumor: Manchester United to Fenerbahce. // Likelihood: Possible. // The Talk: Nani has already made the move to Fener and now it looks like van Persie could be joining him. Van Persie needs a change of scenery and that place is increasingly looking like Turkey. Former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has been influential in persuading RvP to sign for Fener, according to the Guardian. Personal terms have been agreed – just the transfer fee to go.

Rumor: Juventus to Manchester City. // Likelihood: Not buying it. // The Talk: No matter how often Pogba is linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona or PSG, the UK press are determined that his real destination is Manchester City, who are apparently going to sign the Juve midfielder for $110 million. The one thing in City’s favor is that the Financial Fair Play Rules have been relaxed by UEFA, but we truly think the press are barking up the wrong tree here.

Rumor: Aston Villa to Liverpool. // Likelihood: Get on with it. // The Talk: The Reds have been doing their best to sign Benteke without doing the thing that Aston Villa want - paying the $50 million release clause. Balotelli was a risk -- even at half the price -- but Benteke scores a goal every other game. The Reds can go round and round with offers but there’s only one way they can be sure of landing their target.

Rumor: Southampton to Arsenal. // Likelihood: Still United for us. // The Talk: Schneiderlin has apparently told ‘friends’ that he would prefer to join Arsenal rather than Manchester United because the Gunners will quit his style of play. The problem? Arsenal haven’t even made a bid for the France midfielder, while United’s $31 million bid has already been rejected by Southampton. Hello everyone. United are still favorites.

Rumor: Barcelona to Arsenal. // Likelihood: Expensive. // The Talk: The Independent claim Arsenal have started talks with Pedro’s agent in a bid to sign the Barcelona winger. What they may have forgotten is that the winger signed a new contract last month and that his buy-out clause has been bizarrely set at $171 million. That sounds a touch on the steep side to us -- especially for a player that doesn’t usually start.

Rumor: Real Madrid to Arsenal. // Likelihood: Hilarious. // The Talk: It’s hard to keep a straight face for this piece of nonsense. The Gunners are apparently going ‘all out’ to sign the Real Madrid striker with a $27.7 million bid. That’s right. Of course Arsene Wenger would like to sign him for that price! Everytime, the Daily Star has its finger on the pulse when it comes to transfers. We tracked the story down to the Fichajes website which is always the best place to start for nailed-on information!

Rumor: Atletico to Manchester United. // Likelihood: Toss up. // The Talk: Turan wants to leave Atletico -- fact. Manchester United have been mentioned as a possible destination but there seems to be only two serious contenders; Chelsea and Barcelona. Former Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has backed the club’s interim board to pursue Turan, who is thought to prefer Chelsea. Why? AS believe Turan is fed up with negotiating with Barca which has put the Blues in the box seat.

Kevin De Bruyne
Rumor: Wolfsburg to Manchester City. // Likelihood: Good chance. // The Talk: De Bruyne is planning talks with Wolfsburg this week to iron out his future and presumably negotiate a better contract. Wolves would be dancing on the ceiling if they can persuade the Belgian to stay but there doesn’t seem to have been a lot of positive noises coming from the midfielder’s camp. We’re going to stick our necks out and say De Bruyne will be at City for the start of the season.
