Rumor: QPR to Newcastle // Likelihood: Good chance // Austin has been unlucky that his emergence as a top striker has coincided with the arrival of Harry Kane, otherwise he could have had an England cap to his name. His performances have not gone unnoticed at Newcastle, who are lacking in that department. The Magpies have been linked with a $15 million move for Austin, who will be out of contract at the end of next season. If QPR are relegated you can bet your bottom dollar he’ll be leaving – and not for free.

Rumor: Leaving Manchester City // Likelihood: Surely the end is nigh // Anyone unfortunate enough to have witnessed City’s recent performances will know that time has run out for Pellegrini. The Chilean has not taken steps to overhaul an aging squad, and opposing defenses are finding City’s predictable attacking approach far too easy to thwart. Pellegrini’s contract runs out at the end of next season, but unless he injects some youth into the side the m.a.a.d. City fans will be baying for blood. Patrick Vieira has been touted as a possible replacement.

Rumor: Chelsea to Bayern Munich // Likelihood: Nein // Ivanovic is said to be on the radar of both Bayern Munich and PSG. The Serbia defender has a contract that runs out at the end of next season and nothing has been agreed about extending his deal. Word up folks, we’ve been here before in similar circumstances with John Terry, but I tell you the outcome will be the same. Mourinho loves Ivanovic and the feeling is mutual. He’ll get another year.

Rumor: Everton to Atletico // Likelihood: Lots of ifs and buts // Lukaku’s new agent is going all out to find his latest client a club worthy of his talent. Mino Raiolo says he would not have sold Lukaku to Everton and claims the Belgian is better than Diego Costa. The latest news is that Diego Simeone wants Lukaku at the Vicente Calderon but it comes with a catch. Simeone only wants the Everton striker if Mario Mandzukic returns to Wolfsburg. Is he for sale? Everton say not, but we’ve heard that one before.

Rumor: Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United // Likelihood: Double raid? // Mats Hummels is not the only Dortmund player to be linked with a move to Manchester United. The Red Devils are thought to have lodged a bid for his teammate Gundogan, who is finally fit after a long-term injury. Is it a coincidence that United are interested in two players from the same team? Perhaps it’s easier to persuade two colleagues/friends to sign for your club? It may be an average Joe guess, but we suspect there’s something in this one.

Robin van Persie
Rumor: Manchester United to Serie A// Likelihood: Possible // It seems that Van Persie and United are growing apart judging by the former Arsenal striker’s omission from the squad for Sunday’s Manchester derby. RVP declared himself fit to face City, but Van Gaal said his fellow Dutchman was “not fit enough to play.” Stories over the weekend suggest United are willing to pay Van Persie the remaining half of his loyalty bonus ($7.32 million) to get him off the books. Juventus are in the front line ahead of Lazio, but Van Persie has a year left to run on his contract and won’t be in a rush to take a pay cut in Serie A.

Rumor: PSG to Manchester United // Likelihood: Tall order // Cavani was again linked with United over the weekend. The Red Devils will move heaven and hell to sign the Uruguayan and are said to be ready to sanction an $80 million summer move because Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie could be heading out. Unfortunately for United, PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi insists the striker is going nowhere, He said: “Paris loves him and he loves Paris.”

Rumor: Monaco to Liverpool // Likelihood: Interesting prospect // Some pundits believe Falcao has been shown up as a mortal man and not a soccer god judging by his ill-fated and increasingly acrimonious spell at United, which has prompted Liverpool and Juventus to contemplate summer moves for the Colombian. Why so? Mario Balotelli is likely to leave Anfield, while Carlos Tevez is thought to have a verbal agreement with Juve that will allow him to rejoin Boca Juniors in the summer. The latter probably isn’t true, but you never know with Tevez. We’d like to see Falcao restore his reputation at Anfield – if only to see how he reacts playing against United!

Rumor: Palermo to Juventus // Likelihood: Old Lady closing in // Much has been written about Dybala, whose club, Palermo, are skillfully negotiating a real auction for their prize asset. Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini says Arsenal, PSG, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli are all interested, but it’s the Old Lady that are favorites to land him. Juve have offered $35 million, but Zamparini is holding out for $40M. We expect Juve to get their man.

Rumor: Dortmund to Manchester United // Likelihood: It’s on // Chapter ten in the Mats Hummels saga and it looks like we’re reaching a denouement. Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Hummels is thinking about a move to Manchester United, who are starting to look like certainties for next season’s Champions League. It’s been a tough old season for BVB, who are still not entirely safe from relegation. In our view, Hummels needs a fresh challenge. United looks the perfect place to start.
