Rumor: Galatasaray to Arsenal or Manchester United. // Likelihood: Other options. // The Talk: Arsenal and Manchester United are set to fight it out for Fernando Muslera’s signature, according to reports. Both the Gunners and United have made a new keeper a key acquisition ahead of the new season. The Red Devils are looking for a replacement for David de Gea -- who they are likely to lose to Real Madrid this summer -- and Arsenal are keeping an eye on Muslera in case they fail to land Petr Cech, who is rumored to be their primary target. Time is running out for the clubs, though, as has Muslera told Turkish news source Ajans Haber that he is ‘one hundred percent’ committed to Galatasaray.

Robin van Persie, Striker, Manchester United
Rumor: Manchester United to Juventus. // Likelihood: Too soon to tell. // The Talk: Robin van Persie only scored ten goals last season and can be forgiven for feeling a bit like a dead star right now. Left out in the cold by boss Louis van Gaal for most of the season, Van Persie would have every right to try and leave Old Trafford. According to the Daily Mail, the Dutch international’s future could be dependent on whether United land one of their key targets (rumored to be Edinson Cavani and Gonzalo Higuain). Speculation is rife that Van Persie is being lined up by Italian champions Juventus as a replacement for Carlos Tevez, if he was to leave the Old Lady. All the signs point to the exit door, but it looks like a waiting game.

Anthony Martial, Striker, Monaco
Rumor: Monaco to Spurs. // Likelihood: In the balance. // The Talk: Mauricio Pochettino is keen to provide Harry Kane with some artillery support for the upcoming season. The England international scored 21 of Tottenham’s 58 goals in the league last campaign, and his boss has recognized the need to aid him with a strike partner. Fellow forwards Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado could only add six league goals between them last term. It is thought the north London club are weighing up a $30.5million bid for Anthony Martial -- who is one of the hottest properties in French soccer. At 19 years old, the Premier League could be too big a step up for the uprising Martial and Tottenham may have to consider players more likely to make an instant impression.

Jackson Martinez, Striker, Porto
Rumor: Porto to Arsenal. // Likelihood: Incoming. // The Talk: Jackson Martinez was Porto’s guiding light last season, scoring 32 times in 42 appearances for the Portuguese outfit. A newspaper in Portugal has reported that Arsenal are in pole position for the Columbian goal-machine, with a new striker thought to be high up on Arsene Wenger’s agenda. Players that score over a goal every two games are few and far between, so you would expect the Gunners to come up against some fierce competition for his signature. Arsenal fans -- who have been crying out for a new forward -- will only believe it when they see it.

Mateo Kovacic, Midfielder, Inter Milan
Rumor: Inter Milan to Liverpool. // Likelihood: Sure thing. // The Talk: Reports in Mateo Kovacic’s native Croatia are reporting that a deal is almost done between Inter Milan and Liverpool for the midfielder’s services. The only stumbling block is thought to be the fee, with Inter holding out for money in the region of $27million. Liverpool are pushing ahead with their transfer plans following the signings of James Milner and Danny Ings, subject to medicals. Kovacic would present another impressive piece of Brendan Rodgers’ jigsaw for next season. There has been a lot of hysteria surrounding the 21-year-old over the past couple of seasons and it would certainly be a coup if Liverpool could push through the signing.

Christian Benteke, Striker, Aston Villa
Rumor: Aston Villa to Liverpool or Tottenham. // Likelihood: Looks certain. // The Talk: Following a spectacular end to the season -- scoring 12 goals in Villa’s final 12 league games -- Christian Benteke won’t be short of admirers as the summer transfer window kicks into gear. The Belgian muscle museum is reportedly attracting interest from Liverpool, and more recently, Tottenham. Both clubs will be looking for added firepower to boost their Champions League hopes, having fallen short in the previous campaign. $30.4 million could be enough to persuade Villa to part with their prized asset who is thought to be keen on a move away from Villa Park, according to The Sun newspaper.
Lars Bender, Midfielder, Bayer Leverkusen
Rumor: Leverkusen to Manchester City. // Likelihood: Maybe. // The Talk: Lars Bender has been the subject of interest from Arsenal and Manchester United in windows gone by, but it’s now United’s rivals City who are looking at the German international. The 2014 Premier League champions are lining up Bender as a back-up plan in case they miss out on a deal for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. Leverkusen would probably provide stern resistance to any move for their central enforcer, with a potential Champions League qualifier with United on the cards.
Eden Hazard, Midfielder, Chelsea & Diego Costa, Striker, Chelsea
Rumor: Chelsea to Real Madrid. // Likelihood: Very unlikely. // The Talk: Eden Hazard and Diego Costa were key figures in Chelsea’s relentless pursuit of the Premier League title last season, scoring 34 league goals between them. New Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez is looking to take advantage of Barcelona’s transfer blackout by getting ahead in this summer’s market. The Spaniard reportedly hopes to raid his former club for the Blues duo. However, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is quoted in The Sunday Telegraph as saying: “I don’t see our team losing players.” And, with Mourinho looking to build upon this season’s success, it seems unlikely that he would be willing to lose any of his most important players.
Felipe Anderson, Midfielder, Lazio
Rumor: Lazio to Manchester United. // Likelihood: The shoe fits. // The Talk: Manchester United could be set to test Lazio’s resolve with a $45.7million bid for their Brazilian star Felipe Anderson. The Daily Star reports that the Red Devils scouts were impressed with the new born 22-year-old attacking midfielder. If the deal goes ahead, then United will be hoping Anderson can help Juan Mata and Ander Herrera continue their good goalscoring record. Lazio’s apparent interest in Robin van Persie could help move this deal along if the terms are right. We think this one has legs!
Karim Benzema, Striker, Real Madrid
Rumor: Real Madrid to Manchester United. // Likelihood: Depends. // The Talk: Manchester United will be on the lookout for a new striker this summer, after Falcao’s loan deal expired and the potential reality of a Robin van Persie exit. United want goals and that is something the Karim Benzema would almost definitely provide. The Frenchman is reportedly out of Rafa Benitez’s plans, despite scoring 22 goals for Real Madrid last season. That said, Benzema is feeling good about life in the Spanish capital. The star’s agent dismissed the Red Devils speculation, he told the Daily Mail: “What is Karim going to do in Manchester? He's happy in Madrid. He doesn't want to leave.”
