Rumor: LA Galaxy to ? The UK press is still taking about a dream Defoe-Keane partnership at QPR in January , but the Republic of Ireland striker will not be joining the west Londoners in the New Year. The 34-year-old Keane won MLS Cup for Los Angeles Galaxy and has since admitted that his body needs a rest after an exacting season. The last thing he needs is three months in the Premier League having had about 22 months without any time off.

Rumor: Barcelona to Liverpool. .. // Likelihood: Hmm… // Rumor talk: Montoya is down in the ground at Camp Nou and wants out in January, that much we know - but where’s he headin’? Liverpool have been strongly connected with the right-back although a new name has emerged. One of the Spanish daily papers reckon that Juventus have offered a four-year although the transfer fee, believed to be $24.38 million, has yet to be agreed between the two clubs. Watch this space.

Rumor: Toronto to Premier League. // Likelihood: Staying in Italy more likely. // Rumor talk: Defoe’s MLS adventure looks like it has come to an end. The former Tottenham striker has been saying all the right things as a highly-paid contracted member of Toronto’s squad but the impression we get from England is that he has somewhere else to be. That somewhere looks like the Premier League at either QPR or Leicester, but the Harry Redknpp factor tips the balance in the Londoners’ favor.

Rumor: West Brom to Liverpool. // Likelihood: Really? // Rumor talk: This story was doing the rounds over the weekend but how much truth is in it? The Reds are apparently close to agreeing a £23.5million ($36.5m) deal for the Baggies striker. The trouble is Berahino’s scoring touch has gone cold, cold, cold. Eleven games without finding the back of the net sounds a bit like Mario Balotelli’s record! Oh, and he has a DUI rap hanging over his head. Time to move on.

Rumor: Galatasaray to Premier League. // Likelihood: Forget it. // Rumor talk: Sneijder may finally have been paid but the cash-strapped Turkish club could really do with getting the Dutch boy off their books. Interestingly, for a man so highly paid as Sneijder, Southampton are favorites to sign him in January but we don’t buy that. Manchester United and City are next in line but Sneijder has been strongly linked with a return to Inter Milan. Can they afford him?

Rumor: Roma to Manchester United. // Likelihood: Staying in Italy more likely. // Rumor talk: We need to talk about Kevin. Again. And again. Unless you’ve been a bit sleepy since the summer, Strootman is forever being linked with a move to Manchester United. Louis van Gaal has been getting a bit tetchy answering questions about United’s plans for January but do they include his Dutch compatriot? Strootman himself has hinted that Roma is an ideal place to get noticed by bigger clubs, one he will leave when the time is right. Looks like United will have to wait a while longer.

Rumor: Sporting Lisbon to Arsenal. // Likelihood: Possible. // Rumor talk: Carvalho has reportedly been on Arsenal’s radar since the summer when a third-party complication supposedly scuppered the deal. Will the Gunners get the midfield enforcer they need as a late Christmas present? The latest talk is that the Gunners are prepared to meet Sporting’s £20 million ($31 million) asking price, but is this the start of a new, beautiful William Carvalho career? Chelsea have shown, through Nemanja Matic, how important a talented holding midfielder is. If Carvalho’s anywhere near Matic they should go for him before another club steps in.
Rumor: Arsenal to Inter Milan. // Likelihood: A good chance. // Rumor talk: Podolski is never going to be a regular starter at Arsenal, that much we do know. The World Cup winner has been making noises over the last few months about his lack of game time, so what’s he gonna do? He can either lie down and take the money or do something about it. Step forward Roberto Mancini who is interested in the Germany international. Wenger has hinted Podolski could leave in January but that “nothing is concrete”. Come on Pod, take a pay cut and show us what you got.

Rumor: PSG to Liverpool. // Likelihood: Interesting. // Rumor talk: Is it possible that Inter Milan would sign both Podolski and Lavezzi? It’s certainly an enticing proposition but one thing is clear – Lavezzi is on borrowed time in the French capital. He won’t be joining the French champions on a warm-weather training camp in Morocco amid speculation he will leave the club in January. We think that’s likely. If Inter don’t get him, there’s a chance Liverpool will. So long and adieu France!

Rumor: Bayern Munich to Liverpool. // Likelihood: Unlikely. // Rumor talk: The world deserves to see a bit more of Shaqiri’s talents but when you’re playing for one of the three best clubs on the planet you had better make sure you’re extra special to guarantee a place in the starting lineup. Unfortunately, the Swiss winger’s career at the Allianz has stalled and new pastures beckon in the New Year. Liverpool have long been linked with Shaqiri but the smart money is on a loan move to Juventus.
