RUMOR: Leaving Tottenham // LIKELIHOOD: Spurs would be mad to sell // Paulinho recently voiced concerns over Tim Sherwood’s rotation policy, but he is back in the side once again and opened the scoring during Saturday’s 3-1 win against Fulham. Roma are apparently interested in signing the Brazilian midfielder on loan but we think Sherwood is on borrowed time and Paulinho is undoubtedly one of the stars at Spurs that no new manager would want to be without.

RUMOR: Athletic Bilbao to Manchester City // LIKELIHOOD: Would be a great signing // Muniain is out of contract next season, but Athletic Bilbao hope to persade the 21-year-old midfielder to extend his stay with the Basque club. It’s never that easy though is it? Manchester City are already planning to go in with the promise of higher wages and bring him to the Etihad. If Muniain decides to run down his contract, then expect Athletic to start listening to offers.

RUMOR: Arsenal to PSG // LIKELIHOOD: Plenty of suitors // The French center-back is apparently on relatively low wages at the Emirates, but Arsenal plan to hold contract talks over the summer to bump his salary up to the same level as Per Mertesacker. However, they face competition from Bayern Munich, PSG and Monaco, and sources in France suggest Manchester United are also interested. The Gunners don’t want to drive away their best talent so we suggest they get a move on once, and if, Champions League soccer is secured.

RUMOR: Leaving Manchester United // LIKELIHOOD: Could still go even if Moyes is axed // Moyes may be on borrowed time, but he insists Welbeck remains an important part of his plans. Does Welbeck feel the same way? The England striker may be feeling alright now that it seems Moyes’ time is up at Old Trafford, but would another manager give him the game time he desires? The problem with Welbeck is he just doesn’t score enough goals, so maybe it’s time to move on and be a bigger fish in a smaller pond.

Robin van Persie
RUMOR: Leaving Manchester United // LIKELIHOOD: Maybe not // Van Persie’s body language says it all. Not just his body language but his words too suggest he ain’t happy. Remember when he accused United players of getting in his way during the2-0 Champions League defeat by Olympiakos? Well, former Holland striker Pierre van Hooijdonk reckons Van Persie will stay at United if Louis van Gaal gets the job at Old Trafford. Set your arms down RVP! Moyes looks like he’s history, and Van Gaal seems to be stalling on the Tottenham job. Wonder why?

RUMOR: Barcelona to Liverpool // LIKELIHOOD: Hurdles to overcome // Tello is a wanted man in Europe, but if Liverpool are to land the winger they must first circumvent a major problem. Barcelona will have to splash on the warpaint and try to overturn FIFA’s 14-month transfer ban if they want to do business. But the Reds will not have it all their own way and may have competition for Tello’s signature in the shape of Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid, who are also said to be in the melting pot.

RUMOR: Barcelona to Manchester United // LIKELIHOOD: He could leave // Time seems to be running out for Fabregas, whose every touch seems to be greeted with jeers and whistles by the Barcelona faithful. That kind of vitriol from your own supporters cannot help the composure of any player, so is it time to move on? The ball is in Fabregas’ court, and if he wants to stay it’s nothing that a couple of goals wouldn’t sort out. Manchester United and Arsenal would certainly be interested but, there’s still that matter of a transfer ban.

RUMOR: Atletico to Chelsea // LIKELIHOOD: Things moving – but slowly // This deal is certainly a biggy, but one thing’s for sure - it’s getting complicated. The reason? Chelsea have struck an exchange deal with Atleti which would see Romelu Lukaku heading in the other direction, but the Spaniards are still digging their heels in over goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, whom they want on loan for a fourth season. Pass the headache tablets.

RUMOR: Leaving Manchester United // LIKELIHOOD: Almost certain // Enough is enough. Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Everton was the final straw for the Manchester United board. On Monday some of the big sports journalists in the UK media tweeted almost simultaneously that Moyes is on the brink of the sack, and there now looks to be no way out for the former Everton boss. He could even be gone by the end of the week, with Ryan Giggs placed in temporary charge.

RUMOR: Barcelona to Manchester City // LIKELIHOOD: Highly unlikely, but you never know // This seemed almost impossible until last week when Catalan sports channel Esport3 claimed that Messi is no longer viewed as indispensible by the Barcelona board. That led some papers to suggest Manchester City are monitoring the outcome of contract talks between the two parties. City may be chasing shadows, especially as Barca’s president has said the Argentine will be offered a new contract. Will he accept it? Probably.
