RUMOR: Arsenal to Serie A LIKELIHOOD: Possible – deserves a chance Podolski is simply one of the good guys. Forever a team player and not one to grumble about not being selected it seems that his disappointing spell at Arsenal is coming to an end, especially since the arrival of Danny Welbeck. Rumor has it that Serie A giants Juventus are interested in the German forward. Inter Milan, who have made a terrible start to the season, are also in the frame. Time to begin again Lukas.

RUMOR: Fiorentina to Manchester United LIKELIHOOD: A lot of money United were linked with the Colombia international during the summer transfer window but nothing happened but it now seems as though the Red Devils are about to resurrect their interest in the Fiorentina winger. We know all too well that rumors are ten to a penny but Il Corriere dello Sport are confident United are about to make a move. Is that why he’s in talks about a new deal and a $44 million buy-out clause? We don’t buy it and nor will United.

RUMOR: Schalke to Arsenal LIKELIHOOD: Not again! Remember this one? Who could forget Draxler’s name appearing in the papers almost every day as his move to Arsenal inched ever closer until August went by and the winger remained at Schalke, who could breathe a lot easier. Well, is the same rumor about to resurface? Gunners scouts were reportedly at Schalke’s midweek Champions League clash with Maribor to check out Draxler. We watched Arsenal get steamrollered by Chelsea at the weekend. Surely, the last thing they need is another lightweight midfielder?

RUMOR: Barcelona to Premier League LIKELIHOOD: Still a possibility No sooner did Alves confess that this season would be his last at Barcelona then there is already talk that he will be offered a new deal by the Catalan giants. The 31-year-old Brazilian said that a change of scene and that he would be moving to England next summer which inevitably alerted every big Premier League club. A new deal may be offered but don’t be surprised to see Alves in the Premier League next season - or somewhere less exacting.

RUMOR: Juventus to Manchester United LIKELIHOOD: No From the outside it seemed that Vidal was going to join Manchester United in the summer – a move which never materialized. And why? Well, according to the Juventus midfielder there was never any serious interest in the first place. He said: “I have a pact with my agent – if there is something concrete it’s up to him to let me know. And he never called” I wish Vidal had told us this in the first place so that we could have turned our attention to other scurrilous rumors!

RUMOR: Real Madrid to Manchester United LIKELIHOOD: Don’t think so Poor Luke Shaw. If it’s not Jordi Alba it’s another left-back Fabio Coentrao being linked with a move to United, except this time Louis van Gaal wants Angel di Maria to do his dirty work by persuading his former Real Madrid teammate to move to Old Trafford. Is that what United really need in January? Coentrao would be the lucky one if he got a move like that but we’re not confident it will happen.

RUMOR: Barcelona to Manchester United LIKELIHOOD: Ha ha! We’re not sure what Luis Enrique is up to at Barcelona but for some reason Pique has been sitting on the bench despite being fit. The former Manchester United defender sat out the 3-2 Champions League defeat by PSG where the lack of height was exposed. Being overlooked has led some to think that United could make a move for their former player but bad news Red Devils fans, Pique is back in the team. Pique is a guy who wants to be the club’s president one day so is unlikely to move. We think Luis Enrique will go before Pique does.

RUMOR: Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United LIKELIHOOD: Another rejection letter for United Hummels was another player on United’s wish list in the summer but the more it was talked about the more adamant the Germany defender said he wasn’t interested. Last week he hinted that he will be forever and always a Borussia Dortmund player as he believes money isn’t everything and tha the has all he needs. How refreshing to hear a player say that. If he does decided to move it would have to be to a team that plays football in the right way. Do United actually have defenders?

RUMOR: Barcelona to Manchester United/City LIKELIHOOD: What? The last time Manchester United bought a left-back was like er… the summer when they splashed out an incredible £30 million ($48 million) on Southampton’s Luke Shaw, who Louis van Gaal later deemed not fit enough to play during the pre-season tour of the USA. We suggest that £30 million is a lot to spend on a player that is going to sit on the bench but if a teenager is worth that much how much would the best left-back in the world be worth? As for City, don’t they already have Kolarov and Clichy?

RUMOR: Real Madrid to Manchester United LIKELIHOOD: Say what? So, United have failed in their mission to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford and have now turned their attention to bringing Gareth Bale back to the Premier League. Tell me why exactly the Wales forward with electrifying pace playing in the Champions League for one of the best teams in the world would want to join a side who would be satisfied with a top-four finish. Bale is second on the team sheet at the Bernabeu and there is no chance the club will part with him.
