Rumor: Manchester United to Juventus. // Likelihood: Closer by the minute. // Breakdown: Ever since Louis van Gaal's arrival at Old Trafford, Hernandez's time with the Red Devils were numbered. The striker admitted this summer that he is far from happy being on the bench, which led many to speculate on his future. Enter Juventus, who are willing to dish United's asking price and ironically, are also stacked in the center-forward position with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente and Alvaro Morata in the mix. Will "Chicharito" play the ship song despite the crowded space in Turin? All answers point to yes.

Rumor: Olympiakos to Arsenal. // Likelihood: Impasse reached. // Breakdown: What is going on with this deal? Even though the Greece defender seemed to be a long time man for Wenger and reportedly underwent a medical earlier this month the two parties apparently forgot to thrash out the personal details which is where we’re at. Goal.com reckon the parties had talks on Friday without a successful conclusion so if this isn’t sorted out soon Wenger will turn his attention elsewhere.
Rumor: Atletico Madrid to Southampton. // Likelihood: He could leave. // Breakdown: We now know that Belgium defender Alderweireld has options elsewhere because Atletico coach Diego Simeone decided to spell it out to us plain and clear. Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur claims Southampton, who have plenty of cash to spend after the club sold nearly all of their best players, have made contact about a deal to replace Dejan Lovren, while Monaco are also interested. Maybe we should add Arsenal to that list?

Rumor: Manchester United to Everton. // Likelihood: Possible. // Breakdown: Welbeck has been shown no mercy by ruthless Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, who needs to scrape back some cash from his plans to pay silly money for Di Maria. Welbeck can count himself unlucky that he’s the fall guy in the culling operation but there won’t be a shortage of interested parties. Step forward Everton, who are looking for another striker to supplement Romelu Lukaku. However, the Toffees are also interested in Samuel Eto’o which could pave the way for Welbeck’s move to Spurs. Galatasaray are also in the mix but we think Welbeck wants to stay in the Premier League.

Rumor: Arsenal to Juventus. // Likelihood: Certainly possible. // Breakdown: Podolski’s days as an Arsenal player are sadly numbered. The Germany international deserves the chance to be seen week in, week out, but where’s he heading if he doesn’t stay at the Emirates? The latest gossip is that his cabin fever could end with a trip across the Mediterranean to Turin. If this were simply a case of selling a player then this move is plausible, but the Gunners may use Podolski as a bargaining tool elsewhere – more of which later.

Rumor: Wolfsburg to Arsenal. // Likelihood: Interesting, but will Wolfsburg sell? // Breakdown: What does Wenger need? We all know what some fans think he needs but his squad lacks a tough-tackling, ball-winning, no-nonsense midfielder. Sami Khedira is now out of the equation since Ancelotti stated on Sunday that the Germany international would be staying at Real Madrid. Wolfsburg are said to be keen on Podolski; the Gunners are thought to be interested in Brazilian Gustavo. Bring it on!

Rumor: Sporting Lisbon to Arsenal. // Likelihood: Getting complicated. // Breakdown: The goalposts have apparently shifted regarding Carvalho’s overpriced release clause of $58 million. Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reckon Sporting are prepared to knock about $18 million off that price if they get a player in return. Arsenal could do business but who would they release? Podolski is an obvious candidate but there isn’t much fat at the Emirates these days after a summer cull. Joel Campbell is another possibility but he has been linked with AC Milan. More likely are Serge Gnabry or Yaya Sanogo. Wenger’s red right hand could be about to welcome the kind of midfielder he needs but a possible deal is still miles away.

Rumor: Chelsea to PSG. // Likelihood: Cech doesn’t want to hang around. // Breakdown: Once Mourinho’s mind is made up it’s made up and he has decided that Thibaut Courtois is his number one goalkeeper. Cech has had a wonderful life at Stamford Bridge – 10 years in fact – but Courtois, at 22, is the future. So what next for the Czech keeper? Opinion seems divided between PSG and Monaco, but Cech will only leave if he is guaranteed a starting role so we think he’ll weigh up his options at the end of the season.

Rumor: Monaco to Juventus. // Likelihood: We don’t buy it. // Breakdown: Sky Sports Italia recently reported that Juve and AC Milan have been in touch with Monaco about a potential move for the Colombia striker, who is back to fitness and banging in the goals once more. We can all make enquiries about great players but when you’re up against the likes of Real Madrid there is only one winner. If he’s going anywhere he’s going straight to you Ancelotti.

Rumor: PSG to Inter Milan. // Likelihood: Is he for sale? // Breakdown: Lavezzi has linked with a move to Liverpool for a few weeks, but that was before Mario Balotelli emerged on the horizon, so what next for the Argentine? The latest rumor is that the forward, whose breathless dribbling bedazzles defenders, could be on his way to Inter Milan, although the Serie A club reportedly have to offload Fredy Guarin first in order to buy him. Do PSG really want to get rid of him?
