RUMOR: Barcelona to Porto // LIKELIHOOD: Expensive for a Portuguese club // Liverpool have long been linked with a move for the Barcelona winger, who has been beaten, broke and scarred by his inability to showcase his undoubted talent at Camp Nou. The Reds’ interest seems to have cooled over recent months, but Porto have emerged as a potential destination. However, the Portuguese giants have been told he will not be allowed to leave for less than 12 million euros ($16.33million) – a decent wedge for a traditional selling club.

RUMOR: Sevilla to Liverpool // LIKELIHOOD: Looks likely // Now that Liverpool are in the big time, Brendan Rodgers can concentrate on bringing top quality players to Anfield to strengthen their bid for a first league title in 25 years. Nothing else matters. Alberto Moreno was left out of Spain’s World Cup squad, but Marca says almost everything has been agreed for the 21-year–old left-back to sign. The pacey defender won’t come cheap, though, and is expected to cost an initial £16 million rising to £20 million. That’s the price of success.

RUMOR: Real Sociedad to Atletico Madrid // LIKELIHOOD: We like this one // Now that David Villa has confirmed he will start a new life in MLS with New York City FC, the search has started at Atletico Madrid for his replacement. One name that has emerged is former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela, who apparently has a clause in his contract that would allow the Gunners to re-sign him. We think that scenario is unlikely, though, and believe he would fit in well at Atletico.

RUMOR: Dinipro to Manchester United // LIKELIHOOD: Moves afoot // United have already made contact about signing the Dinipro winger, who was chased by Liverpool during the summer transfer window, but the day that never comes for the Merseysiders looks like it might dawn for the men from Manchester. Louis van Gaal has been given pots of cash to spend over the next few months and it looks like the Ukrainian could be the first installment in their spending spree.

RUMOR: Southampton to Liverpool // LIKELIHOOD: Worrying times for Saints // This is less of a rumor and more of a confirmation that it looks like the end of the line for Southampton’s talented youngsters. But is it? Pochettino may have gone, followed swiftly by Rickie Lambert, but Saints are digging in for the £30 million ($50 million) they think the England midfielder is worth. The Reds increased their £20 million offer to £25 million over the weekend and they now seem to be the only club interested after Daniel Levy told Pochettino to look for another target. After all, Fabregas would cost the same amount.

RUMOR: Manchester United to Inter Milan // LIKELIHOOD: Possible // Erick Thohir can’t get enough of Manchester United players. Having signed Nemanja Vidic, the Inter Milan owner missed out on Patrice Evra, but now wants to sign Chicharito on loan with a view to a £10 million ($16.75 million) deal. The Mexico striker has failed to cut it at United and is looking to escape in order to gain more game time, so this kind of deal could suit both parties. The ‘Little Pea’ could soon be rolling in Serie A.

RUMOR: Chelsea to New York City FC // LIKELIHOOD: Nothing to stop him // Lampard’s time at Chelsea is over, and although the memory remains with Blues fans about his time at Stamford Bridge it is time for the England midfielder to find a new challenge. Now that David Villa has signed for New York City it seems inevitable that Lampard will take a big bite out of the Big Apple too. Unless a club steps in with a sensational offer, one of England’s finest midfielders is heading to the USA.

RUMOR: AC Milan to Premier League // LIKELIHOOD: Yes, please! // Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, has been told to find a new club for his client after Adrian Galliani held talks with coach-in-waiting Filipp Inzaghi. Arsenal have apparently been offered the chance to bring Balotelli back to the Premier League, but will Arsene Wenger jump in the fire and sign one of the most controversial players on the planet? Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Balotelli, who is expected to cost around £20 million ($33.5million).

RUMOR: Barcelona to Chelsea // LIKELIHOOD: Momentum building // A week is a long time in the Rumor Mill, and despite us saying that Fabregas would fight for his place it now seems that the Spain international is heading out the Camp Nou door for a second time. Sad but true. So what next for Cesc? Arsenal supposedly have a buy-back clause for the 27-year-old midfielder, but Arsene Wenger apparently believes his former captain to be too similar to Mesut Ozil. Chelsea are favorites to sign him, with City next, followed by Manchester United. However, don’t rule out Liverpool, who are leading the race according to one report, although the Reds have made Adam Lallana their number one priority.

RUMOR: Atletico Madrid to Barcelona // LIKELIHOOD: Good chance // One of the best young midfielders around, Koke is starting to court interest from within Spain and abroad. New Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is looking to stamp his authority on the squad and has turned to the 22-year-old midfielder as a potential replacement for Cesc Fabregas, whose time at Camp Nou appears to be up. But the frantic search for a midfielder will not be met without opposition. Chelsea, who have also been linked with Fabregas, are also interested.
