Rumor: Manchester City to Inter Milan// Likelihood: Failed at City // No-one doubts the talent of Jovetic but a lingering injury robbed many City fans the chance to see the Montenegro striker during his debut season. Jovetic was so good with Fiorentina and he may favor a return to Serie A if he remains Manuel Pellegrini’s fourth-choice striker at the Etihad. Erick Thohir wants to rebuild Inter Milan but will he be able to come up with the right deal to suit all parties. We think Jovetic deserves another season.

Rumor: Southampton to Liverpool// Likelihood: Tough competition // Lovren handed in a transfer request at the end of the season in a bid to play Champions League next season. The Saints defender is, of course, the man that was harshly penalized for a foul on Brazil striker Fred in Croatia’s opening game of the World Cup. He wants to join Rickie Lambert at Liverpool and is thought to be the one that Liverpool want to bring steel to their porous defense. However, Barcelona may have something to say about that.

Rumor: Barcelona to Sevilla// Likelihood: Good chance // Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic officially made the move to Barcelona on Monday, opening the door for Tello to leave the Catalan club, possibly even to Sevilla. There's still a chance Tello remains at Barca, but Liverpool have also long been linked with a move for the 22-year-old forward. Will their hopes be scuppered? We'll see.

Rumor: Chelsea to Juventus// Likelihood: World is his oyster //The World Cup could be the making of Lukaku, who is almost certain to leave Chelsea during the summer transfer window. Wolfsburg have been linked with a move for the Belgium striker and Juventus have also joined the queue, but our hunch is that he could join Atletico as part of the deal that would see Diego Costa move the other way. It’s disappointing that Lukaku never got a chance at the Bridge but that’s just the way it is.

Rumor: Bayern Munich to Chelsea// Likelihood: A new development // The Toni Kroos to United story seems to have died since the dismissal of David Moyes, but new suitors are starting to emerge for a player that has one year left on his contract at Bayern Munich. Kroos appear to be holding the Bundesliga champions to ransom over a new contract which had alerted Real Madrid. But now Chelsea have apparently moved into the box seat by offering Kroos even bigger wages than Los Blancos. A Fabregas/Kroos central midfield partnership? A good hit for the Blues if they can pull it off.

Rumor: Ajax to Manchester United// Likelihood: Watch out Ajax // Here’s an example of how United rumors work at the moment: 1. Louis van Gaal is the Holland and Manchester United manager. 2. Van Gaal either wants players he worked with at Bayern Munich or players he works with in the Holland squad. 3. Daley Blind is in the Holland squad and played superbly against Spain. 4. Van Gaal wants Blind. That’s the way it goes folks, but is there any truth in it? The rumors will only get stronger if Blind continues to impress in Brazil.

Rumor: Bayern Munich to Arsenal// Likelihood: Could go anywhere // Arsene Wenger is in town ostensibly to comment on the World Cup as a pundit for French TV but he has another agenda. The Arsenal boss is in Brazil to narrow down his transfer options – one of which is Mario Mandzukic, who wants to leave Bayern Munich. It’s a shame Mandzukic was suspended for the Brazil game meaning Wenger missed the chance to gauge his performance against the World Cup favorites. Mandzukic to Arsenal? It’s not that serious. Chelsea remain favorites but the truth is we just don’t know.

Rumor: Arsenal to Manchester United// Likelihood: Looks tied up // Vermaelen is cutting a frustrated figure at Arsenal with Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny ahead of him in the pecking order at center-back. Arsene Wenger has already lost Bacary Sagna to one of the Manchester clubs and now it looks as though he is about to lose another - to City’s rivals United. One respected broadsheet believes Vermaelen has already agreed in principle to join United. Worry no more United fans, Louis van Gaal is on the case.

Rumor: Napoli to Barcelona// Likelihood: Too many conflicting stories // Napoli say speculation linking Higuain with a move to Barcelona is “totally groundless” but quotes from the Argentina striker suggest otherwise. Higuain says it would be an “enormous pleasure” to play with compatriot Lionel Messi at Camp Nou which we understand to mean: “Come and get me!” There seems to be a lot of mixed messages coming from Spain so we’re gonna pass on this one.

Rumor: Arsenal to Atletico Madrid// Likelihood: Interesting // Arsenal fans beware. Sagna has gone, Vermaelen may follow but what about Cazorla? Spanish paper AS says the midfielder has told friends and family that he wants to leave Arsenal – despite signing a new contract – and join Atletico. Interestingly, his Spain team-mate revealed he is trying to persuade Cazorla to come over to the Vicente Calderon. Someone is going to be called into Wenger’s office when he gets back for pre-season training.
