RUMOR: Blackpool to Inter Milan // LIKELIHOOD: Surely not // Tom Ince has been coveted by some of the world’s biggest clubs for a couple of years and no doubt has potential to become a good player. His performances on loan at Crystal Palace suggest that the former England Under-21 international has a way to go yet! In 5 months of Premier League action with Palace he managed 8 appearances and only 1 goal. If the free agent (this summer) can keep off the nurse’s table then a top club could take a chance on him.

RUMOR: Barcelona to Liverpool // LIKELIHOOD: Good bet // This rumor has rumbled for quite a while and looks more likely to happen the nearer we get to the transfer window. Tello is lacking game time at Barcelona and a loan move may prove more popular for the club - who still rate Tello highly. Now Liverpool are in the Champions League they become open to a whole new world of signings and a bigger squad will be essential. The Reds will be hoping Tello is thinking: “I can learn there.”

RUMOR: Chelsea to Liverpool // LIKELIHOOD: Close run thing // Ashley Cole’s future at Chelsea is very much in doubt despite Jose Mourinho insisting he could still stay on past the end of his current deal. Cole is one of the best players the Premier League has ever seen and now looks likely to move onto pastures new – potentially at Liverpool. The Reds’ defense has been leaky all season and Cole would certainly bring stability to their left-back position. The Anfield club could be a good fit for Cole, unless the 33 year old decides to start a new conquest abroad.

RUMOR: Barcelona to Man United or Liverpool // LIKELIHOOD: It’s a goer // Alex Song has only made 18 appearances in the league this season and at a club laden with midfield talent his options will continue to be limited. Speaking in March, Song was quoted as saying: “If I leave Barcelona it will be to return to the Premier League”. The Cameroonian could have a long list of suitors and this is one rumor everyone is expecting to happen.

RUMOR: Chelsea to LA Galaxy // LIKELIHOOD: It’s about time // Frank Lampard has all the characteristics to make a huge impact stateside – the skill, the charisma and to cap it off a beautiful celebrity fiancée. A move across the pond for Lampard – who has just been called up for the England World Cup squad - is likely to end any hopes he still has of international soccer. There have been unconfirmed reports that Galaxy hold MLS rights for Lampard but he could yet opt for David Beckham’s new Miami franchise. Nevertheless, I can’t wait to see Lampard America-bound in the future.

RUMOR: Barcelona to Man City, Man United or Liverpool // LIKELIHOOD: Not so fast // After a disappointing season by Barcelona’s standards it’s no surprise that key players are being linked with moves away from the club. However, the suggestion a player like Xavi – who has spent his whole career at Barcelona – would be tempted by a move to another club at 34 is likely to be wide of the mark. As far as Xavi is concerned, Barca are a boy’s best friend.

RUMOR: Chelsea to Inter Milan on loan // LIKELIHOOD: Why not? // Fernando Torres may not be the player he was in his days at Atletico Madrid and Liverpool, but he proved against Cardiff on the last day that he still knows where the net is. Jose Mourinho said over the weekend that Torres is in his plans for next season and it may be that Demba Ba is the first striker in the exit queue. Although a loan deal could well be in the pipeline to Inter - with Chelsea looking to remove some of his reported £175,000 a week wages. What do you think?

RUMOR: Manchester City to Barcelona // LIKELIHOOD: It would take a lot // Sergio Aguero has the skills to hypnotize defenders and expect to be in a twist if this is to be the year’s major transfer saga. Barcelona splashed out millions on Neymar in the last summer window and it would take a similar amount to prize away an almost identical player. People have been screaming at Barcelona to sign a world-class center-back for the last couple of years – maybe they should make this their focus.

RUMOR: Roma to Manchester United // LIKELIHOOD: If Van Gaal arrives // Kevin Strootman is 24 and on the verge of entering his soccer prime. If Manchester United appoints his countryman Louis Van Gaal as their new manager, then Strootman looks a very likely option for the former Premier League champions. The Dutchman has already played for four clubs in his career, and it may a case of let’s build a home together at United.

RUMOR: Barcelona to Arsenal // LIKELIHOOD: No chance // Arsenal made Mesut Ozil the most expensive German player of all time last summer and now most Gunners fans will be hoping they invest similarly this time around. Barcelona are a team on the decline and could look to rebuild this summer, with Alexis Sanchez a player they’re likely to hang onto. Sanchez has impressed with 20 goals and 15 assists in all competitions so far this campaign. Now, let’s shake hands and move on from this.
