Rumor: Everton to Manchester United // Likelihood: Another raid on the horizon? // The talk: We’ve been here before haven’t we? On the plus side United scored a great success when they landed Wayne Rooney from the Toffees but famously missed out in their desperate attempt to sign left-back Leighton Baines, who became stronger than before as a result. Everton are making the right noises about keeping the Irish right-back. Coleman needs to do the same if he wants to put this story to bed.

Rumor: Shakhtar Donetsk to Bayern Munich // Likelihood: Don’t see it // The talk: Douglas Costa revealed that talks have taken place between Shakhtar and Bayern but doesn’t know much more than that. Let’s face it, if Bayern want Douglas they’re going to get him -- the Bavarians won’t let him walk on by if they think they can get him. Transfer rumors were more positive last week but this one is a wait-and-see transfer.

Rumor: Lazio to Real Madrid // Likelihood: Really? // The talk: Biglia’s magic moments with Lazio last season secured a Champions League play-off round. Radiosei quoted FIFA agent Alessio Scalera as saying: "A week ago an offer arrived from Real Madrid at Lazio's offices for 22 million (euros) plus a bonus if he helped them win La Liga or the Champions League." However, Gazetta dello Sport claims Lazio president Claudio Lottio has rejected the offer because he wants at least 30 million euros for the 29-year-old midfielder. We’d like to know where he’d fit in that Real Madrid line-up.

Rumor: Liverpool to Sampdoria // Likelihood: Out of the question // The talk: Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero said in April that he "would take" the Italian given the chance and that the "real" Balotelli wold thrive in Genoa. However, coach Walter Zenga has ruled out moves for Balotelli and Antonio Cassano. He said: "Cassano and Balotelli are players of extraordinary talent, but no, we won’t be signing them." Who gets the guy (Mario) is anyone’s guess although we fully expect him to stay at Anfield.

Rumor: Bayern Munich to Manchester United // Likelihood: Yo-yo situation // The talk: At the weekend, Schweinsteiger seemed to be interested in a move to United because of guaranteed first-team football. Now he is hinting that he wants to win a fourth straight Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich. The last time we checked it’s not possible to play for two teams at once. The Bayern story has quotes, the United one doesn’t, so looking with my eyes I think I know which one I’d go with. However, let’s not forget that Bayern may want to sell a player with a year left on his contract.

Rumor: Lyon to Arsenal/ / Likelihood: Interesting // The talk: Lacazette led Lyon to a runners-up spot and a place in next season’s Champions League with 27 goals in 31 Ligue 1 appearances. Talks between the player’s representative and the club have apparently broken down over $7 million a year salary demands, and the upshot is that Arsenal have been offered the France international for $33 million. Arsene wenger is wishin’ and hopin’ for a new striker for next season and if the transfer fee is true, the Gunners should bite Lyon’s hands off.

Rumor: Leaving Atletico Madrid // Likelihood: Highly likely // The talk: Turan is turning into public enemy number one with Atletico fans following his come and get me plea to Europe’s biggest clubs, admitting he would like a move "tomorrow." The midfielder’s agent is in talks with three or four clubs, and it sounds like at least one Premier League giant is involved. However, PSG are favorites, closely followed by Chelsea and Manchester United.

Rumor: Real Madrid to Manchester City // Likelihood: Not buying it // The talk: Manchester City have now reportedly joined their rivals United in the race to sign the Real Madrid defender. United reportedly had a £35 million ($55M) bid rejected on Thursday, but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is in the 'please stay' camp and has accordingly made the 29-year-old available for £65M ($102M). City are now in the mix, but we think Rio Ferdinand nailed it last week when he claimed his agent was mischief-making in a bid to secure a lucrative new contract. We’re still with the staying gang.

Rumor: Juventus to Arsenal // Likelihood: Garbage // The talk: It’s too complicated to go into how this rumor started circulating but in brief, La Stampa did not say a deal for Vidal to join Arsenal was done, Marca actually claimed the story was 'ex vox populi' (word on the street) and Argentine journalist Hernan Feler admitted making up a story that Vidal would sign for the Gunners. Heading to the Emirates? Don’t you believe it.

Rumor: Barcelona to PSG // Likelihood: What? // The talk: This story apparently emanated from Le Parisien and looks fanciful at best but would be a front page story if it happened. The French newspaper is said to claim that PSG are prepared to pay a world-record 190 million euros ($211M) transfer fee to buy out Neymar’s contract. Firstly, this story seems to be three months old and we can’t find an updated version anywhere. Secondly, Barcelona don’t sell their best players. Over and out.
