Scottish Premier League: Celtic vs. Aberdeen (live, Saturday, 8:30 a.m. EST, FOX Soccer Plus, FOX Soccer 2 GO)
Reasons to watch: This is a critical game atop the Scottish Premier League that could decide the title race in October. Aberdeen got off to a flying start, but a four-match skid that began in late September allowed the Hoops to clamber back atop the table and build a huge goal difference cushion to boot. The Dons took out Celtic in September at home thanks to a late goal from Paul Quinn and will need to show the same resolve against a Glasgow side thrashing teams at home. Just ask Dundee United (Pick: Celtic win).

Premier League: Chelsea vs. Liverpool (live, Saturday, 8:45 a.m. EST)
Reasons to watch: Jose Mourinho may be on the touchline for the last time as his embattled Chelsea side take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. Klopp hasn’t exactly lit it up at Anfield, collecting just his first win midweek in the League Cup, but Chelsea are truly dire, having lost five league games already and looking close to being in a relegation battle. It’s a must-win thus for Chelsea, who would like to avoid changing managers midstream -- but a loss would surely force the issue (Pick: Draw).

Premier League: Swansea vs. Arsenal (live, Saturday, 11 a.m. EST)
Reasons to watch: Arsenal are coming off a jarring League Cup loss to Sheffield Wednesday in which they lost Theo Walcott for five games due to injury. Currently tied on points atop the Premier League, this is a vital away game from the to rebound in. Swansea have been tepid, finally eking out a narrow win over Aston Villa last weekend, but are better than they have shown in the league to date. A win for them here would be the tonic Garry Monk needs. Could be an open, fast-paced match (Pick: Draw).

Bundesliga: Werder Bremen vs. Borussia Dortmund (live, Sunday, 10:30 EST, FS2, FOX Sports Go)
Reasons to watch: Dortmund will be battling fatigue as they play their sixth game in two weeks against a Bremen side struggling to avoid the drop. Dortmund have been firing on all cylinders, netting 61 goals across 19 matches, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang realistically targeting a 50-goal season. Thomas Tuchel’s men also are seeking revenge. Last December, Bremen beat BVB 2-1 to leave the giants in the relegation zone over the Christmas break. They have not forgotten about it (Pick: BVB win).

Major League Soccer: Seattle Sounders vs. FC Dallas (live, 9:30 PM EST, FS1, FOX Sports GO)
Reasons to watch: Portland’s dramatic victory over Sporting Kansas City on penalty kicks threw these teams together in the early hours of Friday morning. This playoff re-match from a year ago offers a chance to gauge the progress of West top seed FCD. Does this promising young side have the ingenuity and the precision to succeed against Sounders FC in a playoff setting? This first-leg tie at CenturyLink Field supplies the first chance to see whether FCD can carry over their regular-season success.
