Rumor: Southampton to Manchester United // Likelihood: We think so // The Talk: The England right-back was given a 10-day deadline in which to decide his future at Southampton. Clyne wants to shine on the European stage in the Champions League and unfortunately for Saints that won’t be happening this season. Judging by the results at the weekend it might not be happening to Manchester United either! We’ll see but United need a quality right-back, not Antonio Valencia playing out of position.

Rumor: Manchester United to Barcelona // Likelihood: Hmm... // The Talk: Things are looking good for Herrera, who is now one of the first names on the team sheet at United after a shaky start. However, the Spain midfielder has been linked with a move to Barcelona, who are looking for someone to replace the irreplaceable Xavi. Could it be a case of Goodbye England for Herrera? Few can resist a move to Barcelona but are they serious? United don’t need the cash so it would depend on how much Herrera wants it if the rumor turns out to be true.

Rumor: PSV to Manchester United // Likelihood: Good chance // The Talk: Few would dispute that United is a possible destination for Depay even though they face stiff competition from Liverpool. However, Louis van Gaal would like to breathe a whole lot easier in his bid to land the Netherlands winger. With tha tin mind he is supposedly prepared to offload Adnan Januzaj, whose star has faded since his explosive debut for United. We can see this one happening.

Rumor: Wolfsburg to Juventus // Likelihood: Odd // The Talk: It would be easy to scoff at this rumor so that’s exactly what we’re going to do. The story goes that if Juve sell star midfielder Paul Pogba to one of the numerous clubs interested in him then Juve have a deal in place to sign de Bruyne. Wait a minute. Wolfsburg, a team in the Champions League, are happy to wait and see what happens with Pogba before selling their prized asset? Garbage.

Rumor: Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool // Likelihood: Interest is there // The Talk: Liverpool, along with Arsenal and Manchester United, were linked with a move for the South Korean in January, but it looks like the Reds remain interested judging by what the player’s agent has to say. He told Bild: "I know Liverpool have scouted him several times this season and would like to have him in their team." He’s apparently valued at £15 million ($22.50 million) and considering he’s in the top 10 goalscorers in the Bundesliga that seems like good value. There's hope in the air on this one.

Rumor: Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich // Likelihood: Get out of here // The Talk: Gundogan will leave Dortmund in the summer -- that much we do know. One thought was that Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze could be involved in a swap deal but Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has ruled that scenario out of the equation. We fully expect the midfield warrior to join Louis van Gaal’s revolution at Manchester United.

Rumor: Real Madrid to Borussia Dortmund // Likelihood: Tough one to call // The Talk: Sami Khedira is leaving the Bernabeu in the summer but where's he heading? Dortmund's incoming coach Thomas Tuchel apparently wants the Germany midfielder but he does not walk alone. Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also in the frame but the team that remains overwhelming favorites are Schalke, despite Champions League football being out of the question for next season.

Rumor: Real Madrid to Bayern Munich // Likelihood: We don’t see it // The Talk: As silly season approaches, Gareth Bale is almost certain to be the focal point for transfer speculation from all parts of the globe. Both Manchester clubs and Chelsea have been strongly linked with the Wales forward and now add Bayern Munich to that list. The Bundesliga champions aren’t known for spending mega bucks on foreign talent but there’s a first time for everything. However, we don’t want to give Bayern fans false hope and suggest that this one is likely to get off the ground.

Rumor: Real Madrid to Manchester City // Likelihood: Nonsense // The Talk: Darkness descends on modern journalism again as Metro lifts a story from the Manchester Evening News (how do we know? Because they both spelt Stevan Jovetic’s name in the same incorrect way), who in turn grabbed the story from Fichajes. The story goes like this: Real Madrid don’t particularly want to sell Benzema so it would take a spectacular offer from City or PSG to sign him. We’ll stop there ...

Rumor: Juventus to Chelsea // Likelihood: Nonsense // The Talk: Midfield magician Pirlo has admitted that should Juventus win the Champions League he will consider joining a club abroad. The kids at The Metro, which is closer to a comic than a newspaper, idly speculated that Chelsea are on "red alert." That’s probably because Pirlo revealed he nearly joined the Blues in 2009. That was then and this is now. Could he handle Chelsea’s all-action pressing game at 35? (he turns 36 this month). Don’t let me bring you down Pirlo, but it’s doubtful, great as you are. In fact Pirlo has talked about MLS as a possibility which sounds more plausible. In any case Juventus are big outsiders of four to actually win the Champions League so he’ll probably end up staying.
