Sandhausen continued their promotion push with a 1-0 home victory over Kaiserslautern on Friday. Stipe Vucur turned into his own net six minutes before halftime to give the home side the victory. Wooten toiled away up front for the entire affair as 10-man Sandhausen moved within two points of the promotion places.

Union Berlin snatched an equalizer deep in second-half stoppage time to claim a 3-3 draw with St. Pauli on Saturday. Benjamin Kessel provided the crucial equalizer in the dying embers of the game to secure a point. Wood returned from his international duties to feature for the entire affair for Union Berlin.

Diego Costa scored one goal and set up the other as Chelsea eased to a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Guzan picked the ball out of the back of the net twice as Villa slumped to an eighth consecutive match without a victory. The defeat left Villa in the relegation zone at the end of the weekend.

Manchester United romped to a 3-0 victory at Goodison Park on Saturday. Morgan Schneiderlin and Ander Herrera essentially settled matters with two goals in four minutes. Wayne Rooney added a third just after the hour to guarantee the victory. Howard once again started as Everton crumbled on home soil.

Saido Berahino scored the only goal of the game to give West Bromwich Albion a 1-0 victory at the Hawthorns on Saturday. Recently appointed Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce named Yedin in his first starting XI and watched the fullback tend to his duties effectively for much of the afternoon. The eventual defeat left Sunderland five points shy of safety.

Reading moved into the automatic promotion places with a 1-0 victory over Charlton Athletic on Saturday. Nick Blackman continued his fine form by procuring the winner after 76 minutes to seal the points. Blackman’s ninth goal in nine match lifted Reading into second place, four points behind leaders Brighton. Williams played the final 20 minutes after returning from international duty.

Club América ended Ruben Omar Romano’s tenure in Tijuana with a 2-0 victory at Estadio Caliente on Friday. Michael Arroyo and Oribe Peralta struck before halftime to send the skidding Xolos to a third straight defeat. Orozco featured for the first 38 minutes, while Arriola played the final half-hour as the home side chased a result. Romano parted ways with Xolos on Saturday with the club just three points off the foot of the Liga MX table.
