Christian Benteke prompted a four-goal outburst from Villa and sent the home side to a 4-1 triumph over Norwich City on Sunday. Benteke scored twice in three minutes to overturn an early deficit and spark Villa to victory. Leandro Bacuna and a Sebastien Bassong own goal eventually secured the points. Guzan made three saves on the day to help his side move six points clear of the relegation zone.

Fabian Johnson, D, Hoffenheim
Hoffenheim continued its resurgence with a 6-2 victory over Wolfsburg on Sunday. Johnson -- reportedly poised to move to Borussia Mönchengladbach during the summer -- once again featured on the right side of defense in the rampant triumph. Johnson will expect to move back to his usual berth on the left when he links up with the USA squad.

Jozy Altidore, F, Sunderland
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet omitted Altidore from his matchday squad for the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Capital One League Cup final on Sunday. Altidore watched from the stands as his teammates snatched a deserved first-half lead and then succumbed to a trio of second-half goals from City. The out-of-form striker will hope USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann shows a bit more faith in him by handing him a start against Ukraine on Wednesday.

Geoff Cameron, D, Stoke City
Stoke City frustrated Arsenal yet again to claim a 1-0 victory at the Britannia on Saturday. Cameron once again started on the right side of defense as the Potters limited an out-of-sorts Arsenal and eventually reaped the benefits. Jon Walters scored the only goal of the encounter with a quarter of an hour to play to pull Stoke further away from the relegation mire. Cameron will hope yet another assured Premier League display will prompt USA boss Jurgen Klinsmann to name him in the starting XI against Ukraine on Wednesday.

Tim Howard, GK, Everton
Howard kept his 10th clean sheet of the season as Everton secured a 1-0 victory over West Ham on Saturday. The veteran number one made just one save to provide the necessary solidity for the Toffees' eventual triumph. Romelu Lukaku pounced nine minutes from time to ensure Everton remained two points behind Tottenham in the race for Europe. Howard will hope for similar protection from his American defense against Ukraine in midweek.

Clint Dempsey, F, Fulham
Dempsey completed his brief loan spell at Craven Cottage with a 3-1 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday. Andre Schürrle completed his hat trick within 16 second-half minutes to condemn Felix Magath's side to yet another setback in its battle against relegation. Dempsey played all 90 minutes to prepare for the midweek date with Ukraine and his subsequent return to Seattle for the start of the MLS season.

Terrence Boyd, F, Rapid Wien
Boyd collected his ninth goal of the season in a 6-3 defeat to Red Bull Salzburg on Sunday. The blossoming striker nodded home moments before halftime to hand his side a lifeline and pave the way for a response by the home side, but Salzburg -- flying high after dumping Ajax out of the Europa League on Thursday -- eventually snatched the points by scoring three goals in the late stages. Boyd will hope to place the defeat behind him in order to state his World Cup credentials in Cyprus on Wednesday.

Aron Johannsson, F, AZ Alkmaar
The in-form striker played a critical role in AZ's 4-0 win over RKC Waalwijk on Sunday. Johannsson played a part in both Steven Berghuis goals after the interval and threatened the visitors on several other occasions during the affair. USA coach Jürgen Klinsmann will hope for a similarly dramatic effect from Jóhannsson against Ukraine in midweek.

Jermaine Jones, M, Besiktas
Jones made his debut for the Turkish giants in a 0-0 draw with Antalyaspor on Friday. The former Schalke mainstay featured for the first 58 minutes after finally recovering from a lingering groin injury. The initial display offers him some match practice in time for the midweek journey to Cyprus, though Jurgen Klinsmann may opt to evaluate other options in central midfield at the outset of the encounter against Ukraine given Jones' established place in the pecking order.
