The New York Red Bulls don't necessarily need to do a ton. After all, they dominated the Eastern Conference for much of the year. But they didn't make it MLS Cup, so there's more they can do. What is it?

Add another goal-scorer
Bradley Wright-Phillips is great. He won the league's Golden Boot and he scored more goals in more games than anyone, none of them penalty kicks, which made him particularly valuable. But the Red Bulls may want to bring in another goal-scorer with a nose for the net so they don't end up relying too much on a single player.

A starting right winger
The Red Bulls don't have many holes or weaknesses, but they could use a better option on the right wing. Gonzalo Veron, their Designated Player, has been a bust and the other options on the table aren't that much better.

Young, quality centerback
There is a Matt Miazga-sized hole in the Red Bulls back line, still. It's not as if their central defense is terrible, but the Red Bulls have some age back there and it wouldn't hurt to get a younger centerback who can become a long-term prospect.

The Red Bulls' midfield is solid and if they can get the wingers they need, the spot they could use depth in is on defense. A young utility-type player who could play across the back line and be solid in times of need should help them mitigate problems better.

Some star power
We can make fun of teams that sign old, famous players who aren’t that good anymore, and the Red Bulls certainly don't need to do that. But now that they are competing against NYCFC, who have some international stars, it could up the ante in the rivalry if the Red Bulls go out and attract a player with global appeal. Since Thierry Henry left, they haven't had a player like that. And the Red Bulls ticket sales are solid, but they aren't selling out every game, so a marketing boost might not hurt either.
