SAN DIEGO - It was announced today that the San Diego Clasico, scheduled for July 12 at Petco Park, has been postponed until this fall. The 2014 San Diego Clasico was scheduled as a double header featuring Club America vs. Dorados de Sinaloa in the first match and Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente, commonly referred to as Xolos de Tijuana, vs. Cruz Azul in the nightcap. A new date for the Clasico will be announced later this summer.
"With soccer fans around the world focused on the World Cup right now, we haven't seen the same level of fan interest for this year's San Diego Clasico that we saw last year," said Anthony Fernandez from Pazzo Sports. "For that reason, we've decided to postpone the Clasico until the fall. Anyone who has purchased tickets will be able to receive a refund at point of purchase."
