Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Cruz Calls Fights with Analyst Rogan and Blow-by-Blow Announcer Anik

LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, FOX Sports announces veteran MMA analyst Jimmy Smith (@jimmysmithmma) joins former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans (@SugaRashadEvans), retired contender Kenny Florian (@KennyFlorian) and lead UFC host Karyn Bryant (@KarynBryant) on the FOX Sports desk in Los Angeles studio for UFC 220: MIOCIC VS. NGANNOU programming on Saturday, Jan. 20.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (@DominickCruz) joins analyst Joe Rogan (@JoeRogan) and blow-by-blow announcer Jon Anik (@Jon¬_Anik) to call UFC 220 live from Boston. Reporter Megan Olivi (@MeganOlivi) interviews fighters on-site. Santiago Ponzinibbio (@SPonzinibbioMMA), Marlon Vera (@chitoveraUFC) and Victor Davila (@mastervic10) call the Spanish language telecast on FOX Deportes.

The UFC 220 features a pair of world championship fights. In the main event, UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic (17-2) defends his crown against devastating knockout artist Francis Ngannou (11-1) in one of the most highly anticipated title fights of all-time. On the verge of history, Miocic seeks to be the first UFC heavyweight champion to successfully defend his title three times in a row. To achieve his goal, he’ll have to turn back the imposing threat of Cameroon’s Ngannou, who’s won all six of his fights in the UFC. In UFC 220’s second championship matchup, Daniel Cormier (19-1, 1NC) defends the UFC light heavyweight title against surging contender Volkan Oezdemir (15-1).

FOX Sports begins its coverage of UFC 220 with UFC TONIGHT on FS2 Wednesday, Jan. 17 (7:00 PM ET). Host Florian and guest host and UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley preview UFC 220. The UFC 220 WEIGH-IN SHOW takes place on Friday, Jan. 19 (6:00 PM ET) on FS1 with host Bryant and analysts Evans and Florian previewing the upcoming fights. Olivi interviews fighters onsite in Boston.

Saturday’s programming begins with the UFC 220 PREFIGHT SHOW on FS1 (7:00 PM ET) as Bryant, Evans, Florian and Smith break down the evening’s fights, while Olivi adds reports.

The two-hour UFC 220 PRELIMS continue on FS1 and FOX Deportes at 8:00 PM ET and feature four action-packed bouts. Featherweights Kyle Bochniak (7-2) and Brandon Davis (8-2) tangle, while Sabah Homasi (11-7) and Abdul Razak Alhassan (8-1) square off at 170 pounds. No. 10-ranked flyweight Dustin Ortiz (17-7) faces No. 11 Alexandre Pantoja (18-2). Plus, Dan Ige (8-1) and Julio Arce (13-2) open the PRELIMS with an exciting featherweight bout. The action wraps up immediately following the main event with the FS1 UFC 220 POSTFIGHT SHOW, with winner’s interviews and fight analysis.
