More Than 13 Million Tune in to Ohio State’s 27-21 Win on FOX, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports GO
Big 12 Championship Game Tops All Games in Noon ET Window
NEW YORK, NY – FOX Sports won prime time on Saturday night with 12,918,000 viewers tuning in to the 2017 Big Ten Championship Game between Ohio State and Wisconsin on the FOX broadcast network, according to Nielsen Media Research. This year’s Big Ten title contest is FOX’s most-watched college football game since the 2013 Big Ten Championship between Ohio State and Michigan State (13,900,000) and is the network’s most-watched primetime telecast of any kind since Game 7 of the 2017 World Series.
On the FOX broadcast network, the Big Ten Championship Game is up +41% over 2016 and crushed Saturday’s primetime college football competition by 138%. Combined, 13,063,161 viewers watched the Buckeyes earn their 36th conference title on FOX, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports GO. The game drew an average minute audience of 136,161 on FOX Sports GO, the best performance ever for a college football game on the platform.
Earlier on Saturday, 5,896,000 viewers tuned in to the Big 12 Championship Game on FOX, easily winning college football’s 12:00 PM ET time slot. The Big 12 Championship – the first since 2010 and the first ever on the network – and the Big Ten Championship give FOX two of the three most-watched college football games on Championship Saturday.
Overall, 5,982,373 viewers watched the Big 12 title game on FOX, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports GO, including FOX Sports GO’s average minute audience of 79,373. Saturday’s championship game is the best-performing Big 12 game ever on the streaming service and the platform’s fourth-best college football game overall.
FOX Sports’ college football coverage continues this month with the Foster Farms Bowl and San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl. Coverage of Arizona vs. Purdue in the Foster Farms Bowl begins at 8:00 PM ET on the FOX broadcast network on Wednesday, Dec. 27. The following day, FS1’s coverage of No. 18 Washington State vs. No. 16 Michigan State in the San Diego County Credit Union Bowl begins at 8:30 PM ET.
