UFC Lightweight James Krause Makes Desk Analyst Debut with Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley, Kenny Florian and Host Todd Grisham
LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, FOX Sports announces its television broadcast team and special Veterans Day support for FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT: POIRIER VS. PETTIS on Saturday, Nov. 11.
For the first time ever, the UFC travels to Norfolk, Va., and with its numerous military bases, is an appropriate destination for a Veterans Day event. As part of FOX Sports’ efforts to honor Veterans Day, FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer, and UFC welterweight and Army veteran Neil Magny will host a FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT viewing party on the nearby Naval Station Norfolk with military personnel, and will do live talkbacks during the PREFIGHT SHOW and PRELIMS.
Lightweight contender James Krause (@TheJamesKrause) makes his desk analyst debut for FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT with fellow analysts welterweight champion Tyron Woodley (@twooodley) and retired contender Kenny Florian (@KennyFlorian) in FOX Sports’ Los Angeles studio with host Todd Grisham (@GrishamMMA).
In Norfolk, calling the fights Octagon-side, will be UFC lightweight Paul Felder (@felderpaul) and blow-by-blow announcer Jon Anik (@Jon_Anik). Laura Sanko (@Laura_Sanko) adds reports and interviews fighters onsite. Victor Davila (@mastervic10) and Mario Delgado (@mariodelgadorzm) have the call in Spanish on FOX Deportes.
Coverage begins on FS1 Friday, Nov. 10 (7:30 PM ET) with the UFC WEIGH-IN SHOW with Grisham, Woodley, Florian and Krause in studio and Sanko reporting onsite.
The two-hour UFC FIGHT NIGHT PRELIMS begin at 8:00 PM ET on FS1 and FOX Deportes with four exciting bouts, including No. 8-ranked bantamweight John Dodson (20-8) versus No. 9 Marlon Moraes (18-5-1). Tatiana Suarez (5-0) faces Viviane Pereira (13-0) in a battle of undefeated strawweights; lightweights Sage Northcutt (8-2) and Michel Quinones (8-2) tangle; and Angela Hill (7-3) and Nina Ansaroff (7-5) open the PRELIMS with another strawweight match.
The three-hour main card begins FS1 and FOX Deportes at 10:00 PM ET and is headlined by No. 8-ranked lightweight Dustin Poirier (21-5, 1NC), who faces former lightweight champion and No. 13 Anthony Pettis (20-6), with both fighters hoping a win lands them in title contention. The co-main event features welterweight Matt Brown (22-16) in his retirement fight against THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER Season 1 winner Diego Sanchez (29-10), while No. 11-ranked heavyweight Junior Albini (14-2) faces No. 12 Andrei Arlovski (25-15, 1NC). Nate Marquardt (38-18-2) and Cezar Ferreira (12-6) lock horns in a middleweight scrap. No. 4-ranked bantamweight Raphael Assuncao (25-5) fights No. 13 Matthew Lopez (10-1), while Joe Lauzon (27-14) and Clay Guida (33-14) open the main card with a lightweight bout.
The action wraps up immediately following the main event with the UFC FIGHT NIGHT POSTFIGHT SHOW on FS1.
