FOX Sports Announces NFL Broadcast Teams for Super Bowl Season

FOX Sports today unveiled the broadcast teams for the network’s 23rd season of NFL coverage, which culminates with the exclusive presentation of Super Bowl LI, FOX’s eighth, live from Houston’s NRG Stadium on Feb. 5, 2017. The announcement was made by John Entz, President, FOX Sports Production. 

Seven-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play announcer Joe Buck and three-time Super Bowl Champion and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman call their 15th regular season and fifth Super Bowl together. Erin Andrews returns to FOX’s lead NFL broadcast team and reports from the sidelines for her second Super Bowl. The trio opens the 2016 season from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as NFC East rivals collide when the New York Giants face off against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 4:25 PM ET.

Play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt pairs with nine-time Pro Bowl safety John Lynch for the fourth straight season. Veteran sideline reporter Pam Oliver returns for her 22nd FOX NFL season and her third with Burkhardt and Lynch. The crew debuts Week 1 with the Green Bay Packers at Jacksonville Jaguars at 1:00 PM ET.

Former Ohio State All-American and NFL All-Pro linebacker Chris Spielman returns to FOX Sports as an NFL and college football analyst in 2016. Spielman, who began his broadcasting career with FOX Sports Net in 1999, serves as a game analyst alongside veteran play-by-play announcer Dick Stockton and sideline reporter Kristina Pink. Additionally, FOX NFL insider Peter Schrager receives his first season of full-time sideline duties, joining play-by-play announcer Thom Brennaman and analyst Charles Davis in a full-time capacity.

Stockton and Albert have the distinction of being the only members of the group to work FOX NFL games full-time since FOX Sports’ inception in 1994. Oliver, as previously mentioned, is in her 22nd season, followed by Rosen (21), Buck (19), Aikman and Johnston (16), Brennaman (14), Jay Glazer (13), Myers (12), Okmin (9), Davis and Lynch (8), Andrews and Hale (5), Burkhardt (4), Barber and Pink (3), Diehl (2) and Schrager and Spielman (1). 

Also contributing to FOX NFL as sideline reporters during the 2016 season are Holly Sonders, Danielle Trotta and Shannon Spake. Former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn and former NFL general manager Matt Millen also contribute as game analysts.

Each Sunday morning during the NFL season, FOX NFL KICKOFF, a one-hour pregame show hosted by Charissa Thompson with analysts Colin Cowherd, Dave Wannstedt and Charles Tillman, welcomes football fans at 11:00 AM ET. FOX NFL SUNDAY immediately follows at 12:00 PM ET and continues as America’s top NFL pregame show, a reign that has lasted for the past 22 NFL seasons. The Emmy Award-winning, one-hour program returns with co-hosts Terry Bradshaw and Curt Menefee, analysts Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson and Michael Strahan, premier NFL insider Jay Glazer, comedic prognosticator Rob Riggle and NFL rules analyst Mike Pereira. As previously announced, Washington Redskins All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman joins FOX Sports’ NFL pregame coverage, making a minimum of 10 appearances between FOX NFL KICKOFF and FOX NFL SUNDAY. 

AMERICA’S GAME OF THE WEEK, television’s No. 1 show for seven consecutive years, comes off one of its best performances in 2015, when it averaged an impressive 15.4/29, with 26.8 million viewers. On the pregame front, FOX NFL SUNDAY continued to reign supreme, ranking No. 1 among all NFL pregame shows for the 22nd consecutive year, posting a 3.5/9, with 5.3 million viewers, matching its highest rating since 2004 (3.5 in 2010) and posting its most-watched season since 2010.
