FOX and FOX Deportes Set Broadcast Teams for Premier Boxing Champions Heavyweight Title Fight

FOX Sports announces that current welterweight champion Danny Garcia joins the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on FOX broadcast team as an analyst on PREMIER BOXING CHAMPIONS: WILDER VS. ARREOLA live on FOX and FOX Deportes Saturday, July 16 (8:00 PM ET), from Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Ala. Garcia teams with blow-by-blow announcer Brian Kenny, and fellow analyst and long-time boxing trainer Virgil Hunter. Kristine Leahy joins the team as reporter.

On FOX Deportes, former featherweight world champion and 2000 Mexican Olympic team member Daniel Ponce de Leon joins blow-by-blow announcer Ricardo Celis and Jessi Losada call the action from the Los Angeles studio.

The third installment of PBC ON FOX and FOX Deportes is headlined by heavyweight world champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) defending his belt against two-time title challenger Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola (36-4-1, 31 KOs).

“The heavyweight division is entering a new, exciting era, and Deontay Wilder is the biggest reason,” Kenny said. “Wilder could be the dominant American champion we have been waiting for.”

“Arreola understands this might be his last chance at the heavyweight title,” Hunter added. “This is his moment. He’s got to take advantage of it.”

The night also features U.S. Army veteran and undefeated welterweight contender Sammy “The Sergeant” Vasquez Jr. (21-0, 15 KOs) battling Olympic gold medalist Felix Diaz (17-1, 8 KOs) in a 10-round co-main event. The television coverage includes an exciting super welterweight bout featuring unbeaten rising star Erickson “Hammer” Lubin (15-0, 11 KOs) battling once-beaten brawler Ivan Montero (20-1, 8 KOs).

Once the fights are done on FOX, the boxing continues for two more hours on FS1 & FOX Deportes with blow-by-blow announcer Brian Custer joining Garcia and Hunter on the mic on FS1. The show is headlined by a 10-round matchup between unbeaten welterweight Jamal James (19-0, 9 KOs) and exciting contender Wale Omotoso (26-2, 21 KOs). Plus, former world champion Vic Darchinyan (42-8-1, 31 KOs) takes on Mexico’s Enrique Quevedo (16-7-1, 10 KOs) in a 10-round super bantamweight bout and undefeated heavyweight Gerald “El Gallo Negro” Washington (17-0-1, 11 KOs) is featured in a 10-round affair.
