Among Ohio State’s selections are the two offensive players most likely to explode in 2010. Junior Terrelle Pryor is the first-team quarterback and junior DeVier Posey is a first-teamer at wide receiver. Joining #2 and #8 from the Bucks are junior center Mike Brewster and senior offensive lineman Justin Boren.
On the defensive side of the ball, five Buckeyes were named to the first team. Senior DL Cameron Heyward leads the way, joined by two linebackers and two members of the secondary. Ross Homan and Brian Rolle, both senior LBs are teamed up with senior cornerback Chimdi Chekwa and senior free safety Jermale Hines.
Surprisingly, the position on Ohio State’s roster with the most depth only found one player on the list at all. Senior Brandon Saine is the only running back to make the cut, as a second-team All-Big 10 selection. Daniel “Boom” Herron was left off the list entirely, probably because of the three-headed rushing attack OSU provides. Pryor, Saine and Herron combined for 2,118 yards on 460 carries, closely split up amongst the trio. Most of the players at the top of the All-Big 10 list of RBs are the lone threat to carry the ball on their team.
Buckeye fans will also be thrilled to learn that the entire starting offensive line was named All-Big Ten, as was the entire starting linebacking unit.
