Going Mobile: Who caught the Vikings’ eye?

For as much as value as Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier placed on coaching the North squad at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., last week, his first-round pick won’t come from the crew he coached. In fact, there might only be one top 10 pick who participated in the Senior Bowl, but the real value for the Vikings will come in the second round and beyond.

In sort of a preliminary Vikings-only mock draft, here and at right are seven Senior Bowl players who would look good with each of the Vikings’ current picks in Rounds 2-7. (They also anticipate receiving two mid-round compensatory selections in March for the free-agent losses of Sidney Rice and Ray Edwards.) With 65 underclassmen declared eligible for April’s draft, these Vikings prospects are based loosely on the projected rounds in which each Senior Bowl player will be selected, according to NFL Draft Scout. Heights and weight are based on their official Senior Bowl measurements.
