Abreu to the DL; Roberts up from Reno

DENVER (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks placed infielder Tony Abreu on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left wrist on Tuesday and recalled Ryan Roberts from Triple-A Reno.

The move is retroactive to Monday.

Abreu injured his thumb in Sunday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays when he tried to tag out Jose Molina in the fifth inning.

Abreu is hitting .313 with six doubles in 30 games.

Roberts hit .275 with three homers and 26 RBIs for the Aces. Ryan hit .279 with seven home runs in 110 games with the Diamondbacks last season.
