Furlong says in a statement that Deborah Sharp Furlong died Thursday while vacationing in southeast Ireland. She was 48.

Police in Ireland say the car she was driving collided head-on with a vehicle near Gorey, Ireland. She was taken by air ambulance to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the driver of the second vehicle, a man in his 40s, was only slightly hurt.
