Rafael Nadal already missed out on the 2012 Olympics in London ... he doesn't want a repeat in Rio.

Despite a lingering wrist injury that has sidelined him since May and forced him to miss Wimbledon and withdraw fro the French Open, the Spanish star says he'll compete in all three events in this Olympics.

He confirmed the news to a Spanish radio station on Wednesday.

“It’s evident that the condition of my wrist is not ideal and if it wasn’t the       Olympics, I would not take this risk. However, having spoken to my team and with Conchita [Martínez], I’ve decided to play the singles and everything else.

“There is always a risk but I trained six hours between Monday and Tuesday and although the wrist still bothers me, at least it hasn’t worsened and that is great news. I already missed London [2012].”

The 30-year-old star has 14 grand slams to his name, his last coming at the 2014 French Open -- the site of his greatest successes as a nine-time winner.

Singles and doubles play (he'll pair with Marc Lopez) begin on Saturday. He'll partner with Garbiñe Muguruza in mixed doubles, which begin Wednesday.
