Olympic swimmer Amy Van Dyken-Rouen posted that she was 'doing great' and thanked fans and well-wishers for their support on Tuesday.
This comes after the six-time Olympic champion turned TV commentator, 41, severed her spine in an ATV accident on Friday that left her hospitalized.
"Doing great today," Van Dyken-Rouen posted on her Instagram account. "My room is the most decorated in ICU. Thx for ur thoughts & prayers!"
Later, the swimmer posted that she's "Making progress.. First day I sat up."
According to her family's statement, Van Dyken-Rouen was rushed to emergency surgery to repair her spine after the accident on Friday. Her spinal cord was "completely severed" but amazingly "stopped within millimeters of rupturing her aorta, and she did not suffer any head trauma."
