Olympic shot put champion says he can chug 12-pack of beer without a hangover
It takes a lot to make an Olympic champion: grit, determination, drive. Calories.
Take, for instance, Rio Summer Games gold medalist in the shot put, Ryan Crouser. Who recently told the New York Post that he has to eat five or six times a day to get in his daily 5,000 to 6,000 calorie intake and keep up his champion 6-foot-7, 295-pound form.
One time, the 23-year-old Oregan native even ate about five pounds of food — “I was super-hungry after a crazy weight session. ... I had a bowl of white rice, a bowl of brown rice, a plate stacked with chicken, a giant bowl of mac and cheese. I love mac and cheese. It’s a great weight gainer because of all the carbs and fat. … So after I ate all that plus dessert, I got on the scale and I was 5 pounds heavier than before.”
Ryan Crouser is no lightweight.
So Crouser is no lightweight — both on the scale, and, it turns out, in alcohol tolerance. This guy is practically hangover-proof.
“It depends on the type of beer. If it’s something easy like a Bud Light, I can take down a 12-pack and still have an effective workout the next morning,” Crouser said.
Think of that before you invite the Olympic record holder to your next kegger.
