Olympic champ Hannah Kearney takes Moguls title at Deer Valley

PARK CITY, Utah (AP)

Olympic champion Hannah Kearney of the United States won the women's moguls in a freestyle World Cup at Deer Valley Ski Resort on Thursday.

Kearney prevented a podium sweep by Canada in both men's and women's moguls finals.

She tallied 24.83 points, while defending World Cup dual moguls champion Chloe Dufour-Lapointe was second with 23.45. She edged younger sister Justine Dufour-Lapointe, who took third with 23.33.

Canada's Mikael Kingsbury had 26.39 points to win the men's final. It is the third straight World Cup moguls win for Kingsbury to open the season. Alex Blodeau was second at 25.29, and Marc-Antoine Gagnon third with 24.85.

The event continues on Friday with men's and women's aerial finals.
