Japan wins World Cup ski jump in Lillehammer

Japan won the mixed team title in World Cup ski jumping Friday, beating Austria and Norway.

Yuki Ito, Daiki Ito, Sara Takanashi, and Takumade Takeuchi made up the Japanese team that earned 942.1 points. They were well ahead of the Austrians, who scored 901.9, and the Norwegian hosts with 887.5.

Austria lined up Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, Thomas Morgenstern, Daniela Iraschko-Stolz and Gregor Schlierenzauer. Norway sent out Maren Lundby, Rune Velta, Anette Sagen and Anders Bardal.

Germany was fourth and Slovenia fifth.
