Servet Tazegul wins men's taekwondo Olympic gold
Turkey's Servet Tazegul has won the Olympic taekwondo gold medal in the men's 68-kilogram division.
The 23-year-old Tazegul is the world No. 1 and defeated Iran's Mohammad Bagheri Motamed 6-5. Tazegul was often in attack mode, throwing combinations of spinning or jumping kicks.
But despite the acrobatics, Tazegul rarely scored - unlike in the rest of his fights on Thursday. It was a subdued final after a day of forcing his opponents to adapt to his high-paced fight style. No one able could match the fluidity of his kicks.
