SOCHI SCENE: Shooting Star Sumann

Coming to Sochi, Christoph Sumann knew these were going to be his last Olympics.

Now, he isn't so sure anymore.

The 38-year-old biathlete from Austria might not be among the fastest skiers anymore, his shooting has been as good as ever.

Competing in his fourth Olympics, Sumann has become one of only two competitors who didn't miss a single target on the shooting range during the opening two men's biathlon events.

Sumann stayed clean in Saturday's 10-kilometer sprint and again in Monday's 12.5K pursuit, meaning he has hit 30 targets out of 30. Only pursuit silver medalist Ondrej Moravec of Czech Republic has matched the feat.

Sumann, who took home Olympic silver medals from the pursuit and the team relay in Vancouver four years ago, is now joking that he will have to rethink his future plans, including a switch from winter to summer sports.

''I'll probably reconsider my retirement plans now,'' Sumann says. ''And I start at the Summer Olympics in shooting.''
