UFC fighter Stipe Miocic stopped by Progressive Field for Friday night's Indians-White Sox game to promote an upcoming match.

UFC Fight Night will head to Miocic's home state of Ohio on May 10 for Brown vs. Silva at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati. The event will air on FOX Sports 1.

Miocic will take on one of his toughest opponents in Junior Dos Santos for UFC Fight Night 42, which is set for Ibirapuera Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on May 31.

A former nationally-ranked wrestler and third baseman for the Cleveland State University baseball team, Miocic was excited to get back to his roots.

"I love baseball and love the Indians and all the teams here. I tried to play baseball (after CSU), but it wasn't in the cards," Miocic said.

Miocic visited with Tribe players including Yan Gomes, Josh Outman, Justin Masterson, David Murphy, Michael Bourn and more on the field during batting practice.

Miocic said he's proud to represent Cleveland on a national scale.

"I love this city," he said. "There's Cleveland pride in it for me. Everyone has each other's backs here."
