As the team's training camp nears its opening Saturday morning, a Browns player is reportedly saying one of the more talked-about storylines won't be much of one at all.
ESPN's Bob Holtzman tweeted a quote from an anonymous Browns player giving a perspective of the locker room's feel of which was the quarterback competition between incumbent Brian Hoyer and rookie Johnny Manziel will pan out.
Browns player: "we're all expecting Hoyer to start" week 1. Feeling in locker room is Pettine will announce WELL BEFORE 3rd preseason game— bob holtzman (@BobHoltzmanESPN) July 25, 2014
Head coach Mike Pettine said Hoyer would be the No. 1 guy going into training camp but an official starter has not been named.

Earlier this week, Pettine laid out a timetable for the decision to be made, pinpointing the third preseason game as the latest a starter would be named.
The longer it takes for the lead signal caller to be announced the more of a shot you would imagine Manziel has. However, Pettine holds the key to it all.
For now, the favorite is clear but if his collegiate career was any indication, Manziel will not go down without a fight.
