Buckeyes’ Russell shows off stiches

D'Angelo Russell was elbowed and cut above his left eye in Thursday's win over VCU.

D’Angelo Russell took a hard elbow to the face in Ohio State’s win over VCU on Thursday. He sustained a cut above his left eye, but was able to stay in the game after being treated by trainers. The foul was called a flagrant one.

On Friday, the Buckeye guard showed up to practice with stitches over the eye.

Russell scored 28 points in the overtime win.

Ohio State will play Arizona on Saturday at 5:15 p.m. on CBS.
