The Indians have traded pitcher Josh Outman to the Yankees for a player to be named or cash.
Outman began the year with the Indians before being designated for assignment on June 18. After clearing waivers, Outman was outrighted to Triple-A Columbus.
The left-hander is 4-0 with a 3.28 ERA in 31 relief appearances with Cleveland this season. He made his major league debut in 2008 with Oakland and is 16-11 with a 4.49 ERA in six seasons with the Athletics, Rockies and Indians.
Outman went 3-1 with a 4.43 ERA in 23 games with Columbus this year.
Outman will report to the Yankees this weekend.
